HVAC website pre-launch checklist for a small shop.
Before you tell anyone the site is live, walk this list once on a phone and a laptop. It is a pre-launch checklist — not a ranking plan, not a lead promise, and not a claim that the calendar will fill. Fix what fails. Then publish.
Pages and facts that have to exist
- Homepage, Services, About, Contact, and Financing (or Financing unpublished if you have no real program).
- Business name, street address, and phone match Google Business Profile character for character (NAP).
- Cities on the page are towns a truck actually drives this week — not a hoped-for radius.
- Services list only jobs you take. If you farm a job out and never show up, leave it off.
- Logo and photos you own. No stock van. No placeholder theme image.
Phone, form, and mobile checks
- Click-to-call: tel: link uses the same digits as the Google listing. Tap it from a real phone.
- Contact form emails an inbox someone reads the same day. Send a test. Confirm it arrives.
- Homepage first screen on a phone: shop name, city, phone, and a way to write in — without pinching a desktop layout.
- SSL padlock is on. http:// URLs do not belong in Google or on printed cards.
- Footer NAP matches Contact and the listing. One name, one address, one phone.
Claims to verify before go-live
- License or insurance lines: only if true and current. You own those words.
- 24/7 or after-hours: only if someone answers. A tap that rings out is worse than a quieter line.
- Financing: only a program you actually run. No invented APR.
- Google Business website field: paste the live https homepage yourself after it loads. We do not log into Google.
