How to structure a thermostat upgrade page for a small HVAC shop.

A thermostat upgrade page should name the shop, the city, the phone, and what you actually install — without inventing utility rebates or “smart home that cuts your bill in half” claims. Honest service-page structure. Not ads, not leads, not a ranking promise.

What the page is for

Homeowners search thermostat install or upgrade when the old unit fails, Wi-Fi control is wanted, or a heat-pump changeout needs a compatible control. The page tells them you do that work, how to reach you, and what to expect on a visit. It is not a product review blog and not a map-pack hack.

If you only replace like-for-like and refuse some Wi-Fi brands, say so. Do not list every Amazon thermostat as “we install all.”

Blocks that belong

  • H1: thermostat upgrade / install in [city] — one H1.
  • First screen: shop name, click-to-call on the listing number, short scope line.
  • Compatibility note: C-wire, heat pump, dual fuel — only the cases you actually handle.
  • Brands or lines you stock or prefer. Skip fake “authorized dealer for every brand.”
  • What the visit usually includes (pull old, wire, configure, walkthrough). Optional: photo of a real install you own.
  • Rebate language only if you can point to a current utility program and will help with paperwork you actually file — otherwise “ask the office.”
  • NAP and a form that emails the shop.

Claims that do not belong

  • Guaranteed bill savings percentages you did not measure at that house.
  • Expired rebate amounts copied from a blog.
  • 24/7 install crews you do not run.
  • Any claim that publishing this page will rank you or send leads. We do not claim that either.

How the two SKUs fit

On $497, thermostat upgrade copy usually sits on Services unless you add a separate URL later. On $197, you paste from the kit files. Financing page rules still apply — no invented APR. Click-to-call and Contact must match Google Business Profile.
