Click-to-call on an HVAC website that actually rings the shop.
A number the phone can tap is not a widget and not a call center. It is the same phone as the Google listing, wrapped in a tel: link, sitting where a thumb can hit it. DFY adds that on Hostinger WordPress. We do not answer the line. We do not sell a tracking number.
What click-to-call is
On a phone, the number is a link: tel:+1 then the digits with no extra punctuation in the href. The visible text can still be formatted. On a desktop it can show as the same digits. If someone taps it and the wrong phone rings — or nothing rings — the site is broken even if it looks finished.
Put it in the header or the first screen of the homepage, on Contact, and in the footer. Three places, one number. A sticky call button is optional. A click-to-call that opens a chat bot is not click-to-call.
The number has to be the listing
- Same digits as Google Business Profile. See the NAP guide if they already disagree.
- Do not swap in a call-tracking number for “attribution.” That is a second NAP. We do not install call tracking. We do not run ads.
- 24/7 or after-hours on the button only if someone picks up. A tap that goes to voicemail at 2 p.m. is worse than a quieter button.
- Extensions, phone trees, and “press 1 for service” belong after a human answers, not inside the tel: link.
What we paste
$497: click-to-call is part of the Hostinger paste, using the phone on your intake. Handoff is a live URL. Test it from a real phone before you tell customers the site is done.
$197 kit: INSTALL.md says to wrap the number. You do that. We do not log in.
What this is not
- Not a call-answering service. If nobody picks up, that is the shop, not the HTML.
- Not a lead vendor. We do not send you calls from other sites.
- Not a ranking or income claim. A tappable number is a tappable number.
- Not a contractor listing. This page is for owners wiring their own site.
